can't go above 105 gears and chip - can i just remove the TSS sensor

ok i got 4.10's lms chip, i sent it out because it speed limites at 110ish - it may be even slower because i have the 3.73 speed corrector gear in there. Ive been slackin on this problem, gene has offered me to come see him but with the gas prices im tryin to see if i can just remove the speed sensor or disconnect it to get past it.

at like 110 (3.73 corrector gear)my car will just start jerkin like huh huh huh its mildy violant - it does it with the chip on or off and

its always 3600 in fourth like clockwork full throttle light throttle - 4.10 rear geras stock diameter tires lms chip

Has anyone just disconnected the TSS or whatever it is? if doesnt see its moving it should allow me not to speed limit in theory right?
 
my VSS cuts out and even when the speedo reads 0 it will still hit the limiter so unplugging it wont do anything.

Now why would you have your vss out? Ducking that milage!!!

Thats because you only removed the VSS. There is two, the VSS and the TSS. The TSS measures how fast the driveshaft is spinning and throws a code to limit speed if it senses that particular revolution speed or greater. So remove the tss it shouldn;t sense the tailshaft is spinning thus not limit speed.

Because the 4.10s spin faster than the stock gears, which are callobrated for 3.08; not much else to do but a chip. For some reason my chip isn't taking out that particular parameter? It's wierd?

I don't think there could be any other possibility besides the speed limiter that wouldn't allow the Mark to go any faster top end. Car sounds great hauls butt no weird noises... especially at such a consistant rpm independent of throttle. I've hit the speed limiter before bone stock and it didnt buck like it does when im driving, but that was before the 4.10's. Maybe theres some driveshaft vibe along with the speed limitnig produces some bucking :confused:

you seem to be answsering your own question. My chip, not from LMS, fixed my speed limiter problem so I would ask Geno
 
Why can't you just send the chip in and have him remove the limiter and change for 4.10 gears?
 
Wonder if its the chip at all. May be an ignition under load problem...
 
im thinking disconnecting all these sensors might put the trans into a "fail safe", or "limp mode" since it will have no idea whats going on and not make anything better, quit unplugging crap and talk to geno...........

because at WOT in first or second gear the "engine load" is less than in 3rd gear at WOT.

more load = more demand on the ignition, or more possible to have an issue with a weak and or dying coil.

my 95 did that same kinda crap when I had those BS MSD wires on the car.
First and second would RIP thru the tach.. 3rd would miss, sputter..and cough.

I agree.. completely...while there is more than one way to skin a cat... you really aren't doing yourself any favors by trying to "cheat the system".
your just gonna create more issues than you solve.

those sensors are there for a reason, and the reason is "more" than just the "speed limiter".

If I were you, I'd drive back to Genos.. take him for a ride and get him to help you troubleshoot what is happening.
Geno is pretty good at "getting to the bottom" of the "problem".

Hell.. you migth have him LOWER the speed limter to 80ish... so you can tell FOR SURE that is IS the speedlimiter than you are hitting and not a case of the ignition system or the fuel system laying down.

Geno should be able to change your speedlimiter with no problems.
I know it takes about 15 seconds to do just that with the SCT software.
Any tuner "worth his salt" should be able to rectify this situation.
 
When I had the DZA1 Chip from LMS (back in 2000) I had no issues with speed limiters, the car would pull all the way until the speedometer was pointing almost straight down.
 
I'm just gonna chime in an agree that you shouldn't be unplugging things and get with Geno to fix the issue.
 
yea no problems till the speed (the speed of the driveshaft is pegging the sensor for speed) no problems with the revs

not all just one the TSS which measures the tailshaft revolution rate. maybe it got disconnected? ill have to get under there and peak, but i highly doubt it.

regardless im going to have to send my chip in and im not too happy about it because its one of those problems that I sent it in to get fixed and it wasnt fixed because what else could it be? ill go see geno def. but cars dont run on sunshine and smiles. gas is expensive! if you hadn't noticed...

there is more than "one" limiter in the programming.
Suffice to say, somewhere, someone "missed something".
 
lol, my cars fast. but it governs - im gonna go see geno but i dont have the money. i got a whole fuel pump assembly with sending unit for 45 bucks. not bad. He has the same ecu as I and setup, except for the wet kit I'm assuming so we discussed putting his module in my car and running it up to governing speed to see what time it is, i know the chip works because i have my fans set to come on earlier to compliment the t stat. but yea its kept me from going insanely over the speed limit, which is a good thing.

but thats between him and i and i just wanted to know if disconnecting that tss or removing it and not disconnecting it if it's possible will alleviate this. i dont evne run the chip with the juice because for timing reasons so it would be nice to disable the shaft limiter gov manually.
