Ok so today I went ahead and started on the radiator on the ls. And my question is why won't the radiator come out from the top? Like what stops it?

It will come out the top. You have to angle it pretty good to clear the AC lines but with a little work it will come out.

Well I was just curious. I actually found out today while I was working on it. I'm not quite sure why everyone says it so bad. I actually don't think it's bad at all. I haven't had much time to work at. I get off late and only get about 30 min of sunlight after work. But so far I've got the whole fan shroud and all the hoses off. Tomorrow going to try and separate the condenser and combination cooler and drop out the radiator. Again I don't think it's that bad. I like to think I'm pretty patient though. Lol

The issue isn't removal..... it's re-installation!!

Famous last words!!! Calling it easy before its complete, better find some wood QUICK :D :D :D

Good luck! hope it stays easy for you!!!

Oh no. I know the installation will be more difficult. Always is. I think what helps is I have been doing it in increments not all at once.

You can always try the dynamite wrench. Guaranteed removal in three-tenths of a second or less.

And it gives you the opportunity to replace other soon-to-fail parts!!!!!

I changed mines from the top, and believe me you it took atleast a good six hours and four of those hours was just pure foul words.

So yes it can be done, I just bent the old radiator to get it out and cursed the new one into place. Where I had the hardest time was getting the mouth of the hose opening to angle just right to clear the a/c lines without damaging anything.

If I have to do it again I will definitely be going from the bottom, cause it's a simple disconnect drop the old out and slide the new in which seems like about or two job, and on the difficult meter is less then a 0

I already completely dropped the old one. Definitely way easier from the bottom. Lol now just gotta wait to purchase the new one tomorrow.

Now on to the hard part. Lol

The trick to it is to get it to angle just right, where as to get it to clear on both sides, while dropping it in, there will be some scrapes and bumps just try to place those scrapes and bumps on the tanks and not the fins. It's easy to get it to drop in straight, the problem comes from the ac lines and the fact, you have almost no side shifting room to get it pass the ac lines And the abs pump don't make it any better. Plus I had a brand new radiator hose that still had the fresh glue on the clamps so I really had to force the mouth pass the ac lines cause getting the hose to clamp was near impossible. And I didn't want to add stress to the ac lines with the mouth sitting on top of it. I got it done but I instantly went out and bought a new jack with stands so if it happens again the bottom is the way to go.

Oh no. Lol it was a piece of cake. I'm not sure what everyone complains about. Lol literally very straight forward and very simple. Lol I did also take out the headlights which helps to access a few bolts. But all in all a very simple and easy task.
