i figured something was going a little wrong with my ls in the tranny or engin it was shaking and slow shifting and other things like that, well they say its my front suspension not covered by my after market warranty and will cost them 2700 dollars to fix, wow all i have to say is wow, is their something im missing? isnt it springs and shocks? that cost roughly 500 bucks for 4 springs and 2 front shocks? 2700 bucks geez, im probably going to be fixing this at my house. are their any other components that might be bad causing them to say front suspension bad for 2700? its a 2000 LS V8 by the way

i guess i dont understand how slow or bad shifting would be from a front suspension issue. i would try another dealership and get a second opinion

yeah suspension and tranny dont have nothing in common, two different departments.

thats what i say too, i think the suspension may be going bad too but i suspect they dont want to fix my tanny or engine, unless im going nuts and feeling bad response lol

I agree... suspension and shifting/shaking (so long as the shaking isn't more of a shimmy) are non-related.

But on a side note; depending what they are quoteing you on the front suspension work... the price might be about right. If that includes shocks, end links, bushings, ball joints and rod ends... and perhaps wheel bearings, plus a 4 wheel alignment on top of all of that; $2700 wouldn't be an unreasonable dealership quote. But then again, i couldn't imagine ALL of that wearing out unless you've got like 150-200k on the car and no prior front end maintenance.

I got a quote of $3,500 for the same work on the suspension from a dealership. I really don't need it though. I just went in for a front brake job.

Definitely get a 2nd opinion on your car.
