Yesterday i was doing my rear brakes, and i did the driver side pads and rotors in like 20 minutes. Started the passenger side took the caliper off, got the pads out, took the rotor off started putting the new pads in and the caliper bracket has 2 pins, one of them worked fine but the other one was rusted and was pissing me off. I tried to get it to move for like 2 hours, and it wasn't budging......ALSO my car was at one of my buddys house in his garage on jack stands. This morning i took it to my brother in-laws house and got it out in 10 minutes. We took a pair of vice grips and a breaker bar for leverage and twisted it untill the bracket felt warm, then i pulled on the bracket and it broke loose. So i went and got some brake grease and more brake cleaner and put it back together. I just had to vent a little bit. But it's all good now and they work great.

Mine did the exact same thing a couple years ago. It took us about the same amount of time to get the pin to free up. Did you damage the rubber sleeve? I figured that I'll replace the entire bracket the next time that I have to change the brakes. Also, had yours been sitting for any significant amount of time? The dealership had mine for a couple months trying to figure out how to put the seats back since they had been damage in a car theft. Until now, I assumed that it was due to the car sitting there all that time. Now I'm thinking that it's something related to the bracket itself.

The old gm "W" body 2 door cutless supreme's had the same problem on the rears....we always had a 1/2" torque multiplier and a 4' section of pipe to break the pins loose!!

No the sleeve was just fine, and i only sprayed the pin with WD-40 and let it sit over night and broke it loose the next morning.
