Is there a product out there that can be wrapped around the CAI tube that will keep the tube from getting so hot?
I have a K&N CAI and in the Atlanta heat, the engine compartment gets hot as hell and the intake tube does as well. There has to be some sort of insulation wrap that can keep the heat off so it doesn't heat up the incoming air. It also needs to look go. Do not want it to look rigged.

the air spends so little time in the tube i doubt the tube temperature has any significant effect

Well, maybe on the long wraparound intake on the 00-02...

From what I have been recently told it is still pointless.

But I'm not a expert myself so.......?

It's not the tube you need to worry about - it's the filter area being exposed to hot underhood heat.
