Brushed vs Machined Wheels

What's the difference? This is the path I want to go when I buy my wheels..I'm not really into the BIG BALLA CHROME wheels. I want them either brushed or machined with chrome lip and a black window/register and chrome bolts....exactly like the pictures below...by the way, are those brushed or machined?

Now I am aware these are Asanti wheels and they cost an arm and a leg plus an eye to get them, but a guy can dream!

I always thought that brushed referred to the finish and machined referred to the method of manufacture. As in machined vs. forged.

LsUnV2 will know for sure. I bet he has examples of both sitting in his garage that he could show you.
