There's nothing funny about a broken engine mount, but the short video is a chuckle.:D

I noticed a drivetrain clunk in the green Mark VIII when accelerating hard from a stop. I took it over to Jeremi's to check out on the way home.

We were going to put it on the hoist, I wanted to check the rear diff mounts. The car's got over 200k miles now.

Jeremi wanted to try the brake torque engine mount test first.

Good call!

We did put it on the hoist, and the rear diff mounts need work too, not as serious though.

Enjoy the video.

Wow lol. Was that your mark that I heard the tires chirping?.. Nvm i didn't read your whole post where you wrote brake torque test.

Hey, I know one of my motor mount is definitely bad and I think it was my driver side lifting up(like billcu's). I also have a loud clunk when shifting gears from the transmission and letting off at high rpms under load. My question is how how many mounts does the engine/transmission/diff have and is it possible to replace them with the car on ramps. I want to get the engine mount done since I know it is definitely bad. And are the hydraulic mounts sold at autoadvance a good part?

The engine uses 2 hydraulic mounts, both located directly under the corresponding exhaust manifold.
Do 1 at a time and its simple

Thanks. There is no need in lowering the k-member since one thread had someone replacing them and had issues putting the new one on and they were discussing lowering the k-member. To be honest it wasn't quite clear so I asked here. The pricing for the mounts on rockauto is amazing but shipping will be 8-10$ making the total about $40. Or I pick it up at a local store for $42 after coupons and if i ever have issues(lifetime replacement) just take it back and get it replace worry free of shipping. Thanks for the help guys. BTW any difference between the DEA(OEM) and Anchor mounts? I rather just go with OEM but advance only has Anchor mounts. If anyone has experience with mounts. For some reason Anchor is more expensive than OEM...
