Hi new user here. Just bought a 97 mark. While driving home noticed when braking the car would pull heavy to the left and then pull back to the right when releasing the brakes. Have it in a shop and they are working hard to resolve. They said brakes look new. The car is not throwing any codes or errors. The mechanics were thinking the abs block? Maybe bad. Has anyone ever run into this issue! Many Thanks!

Ignoring the ABS suggestion for a moment... If you hit the brakes and the car pulls left, you might have a stuck caliper on the right front.

Then when you let off... the dragging caliper on the right causes a pull to the right.

Thanks! They did check the calipers and they were ok.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry but don't know much about cars. Is the soft line part of the brakes? Many Thank!

The L/H front strut rod bushing could be bad. Have someone watch the front tire movement (engine running & moving fwd & reverse) while brakes are applied. Any FWD or reverse movement/shift of the wheel/tire in the wheelwell should NOT happen if suspension is not broken or worn. My daughters "97 had severe pull to right while braking & the "new" strud rod bushing was split in half! Replaced (by different shop) both bushings, got alignment, problem solved.

Thanks for all the replies! Found an ABS valve block at classic industries. Unfortunately no instructions with the part to indicate what pressure the lines should be set to. Any ideas? Thanks!!
