I attempted to search for this, but was unable to find something that described what is happening to my LS. If I missed it, please direct me in the right direction!

Occasionally when coming to a stop the brake pedal in my LS gives me a little feedback. It feels just as if the ABS is going off, only for a very small amount of time and then stops. It does this even when on dry ground when I know that the ABS should not be kicking in. It does not seem to affect how well the car brakes though..

Just curious if this is something that I should get checked out, or if it is probably something simple that somebody here may have had an encounter with.

It is a 00' LS v6.

Thanks!

Check your brake pads?
When is the last time you got new Rotors and Brakes.

Did anyone bleed the brakes correctly?

More Info Please

pads are good in both front and back. I just bought the car 2 weeks ago so I am not sure when/if they have been bled at all

Almost sounds like a chipped/cracked ABS "tone" ring. Since the fronts are enclosed those should be good. You can check the rears though. I had a '95 SHO that would do the same thing and cracked tone rings were the culprit. BTW, those are the toothed looking rings on the CV's. For me it was more apparent on turns.

Is the pedal pulsing? Is it stiff then it moves freely? Is it just bouncy/spongy??

19 out of 20 times the brakes work fine, but then the pedal pulses. it seems that only the pedal does, and that it doesn't actually affect the braking. I would describe it as the same feeling that you get from the pedal when ABS goes off, only for a very short amount of time.

The same thing has happened to me 3-4 times over two years. Typically at start up with a cold engine. Pedal pulses but no effect on braking. Goes away right after 1st brake application....wierd. Since I did brake job and changed fluid a couple of months ago it has not occured again but maybe too soon to know since it has happened so infrequently.

Sounds like I would just call it nature of the beast then.

Warped Rotors

Never say never. I have high regard for Carroll Smith, but I had an early Ford Falcon that had been taken back to 'Triple E' (Engine and Electrical Engineering) and quietly retrofitted with all the hardware that comprised a 'K' Mustang. It had a 271 289, the full suspension package, disc brakes, a 9" rear axle, etc. It also had a C-4 and most of the parts were marked with XE numbers.

There was a period of time when the car just sat, and the rotors were very visibly warped when I tried to drive it again. A straight edge showed almost an eighth of an inch of out-of-straightness and the pulsing was so fierce that it was hard to hold the steering wheel.

That said, the brake problem that developed in my '02 LS was an obviously-cracked rotor.
