So tonight I swapped out a couple more of the bulbs to LEDS. I did the read brake light and the little mini light next to it. After doing so I realized that

1) when in park and i turn my left or right turn signal on. both rears flash at same time
2) when in drive or reverse I have no flash at all

in addition to this. when in park. the fronts flash proper. also in the cluster. it flashes but the turn single indicators never stop being solid.

Lastly. The upper light. that only comes on when you press the brake. That is not a tail light per say is it ? I dont ever recall it being on when the lights were on just when brakes are applied. It currently is on all all times with the lights beong on and does get more bright with the brakes. However i just cant remember for sure. so im including it in the list of possible "glitches" that im encountering

I do have an LED flasher already in stalled. So im a little loss at these symptoms. Thanks.

1 did you install a load resistor?
2 you can try flipping the light in the socket. The small marker light can stay the way it is.
3 the upper light is brake only.

my car with full exterior LEDs and an LED flasher does neither of those things...

my car doesn't do this either..

its the high mount stop light or third brake light. and should only be on when the brake pedal is pressed.

you may need some load resistors. the reason you can see the third brake light is probably because there is some voltage leaking, enough to light an LED, but not enough to light a regular bulb.

Some led lights are directional.. This is why I said try and flip them in the socket.
You will probably need load resistors also.

Correct mine only light up if they are n a certain direction

On a side note with out the taillights on the turn singles work. But when I hit the brakes the entire dash dims out almost completely

a month if that. Im gonna throw the old bulbs back into it and see if it stops. id really like to avoid the load resistors if possible. but we will see. these bulbs also do not appear to be very bright either.

come to think of it, my car does this when you press on the brakes.
it did not show up when i installed the LEDs and flasher. it came some time after.

I have led's and mine works as it should. I didn't use a load resistor because I have the sequencer and requires a bulb to start the sequence. I wired in a spare bulb socket.

Also realized that my remote start wouldnt start the car anymore either.

So i went and put the old bulbs back in. one still looked newish the other had a purplish tinge to the glass. like it was burnt out. oddly enough that bulb wouldnt flash anymore or light up for the brakes. however the other bulb worked fine and everything returned to normal for the most part.

guess i will have to find some different leds or a better flasher or something. I truly want to avoid the load resistors at all cost.
