I need to replace my front brakes and rotors pretty soon and I have been trying to decide which ones to buy.
I want to get ceramic to avoid brake dust and get the lifetime warranty.
I've read on here that the drilled and slotted rotors are good and i was considering getting them. My friend who is a mechanic told me that I shouldn't use the ceramic brake pads with the drilled and slotted rotors because the rotors will get worn out quickly from the ceramic and that it would cause alot of noise when braking.
Is this correct???
Im not looking for any superior performance brakes, just something that will work well and I like the idea of reduced brake dust with the ceramic pads.
Could someone give me some advise about what pads and rotors I should get and if my friend is right about the info he told me???
Thanks

Well I have the ceramic pads with drilled and slotted, very noisy, and ALOT of brake dust. Maybe it's just the pads, but I know I'll be moving to somethign along the lines of a kevlar-based pad.

The Rotorworks drilled + slotted rotors look and work amazing. They were pretty cheap too from eBay.

The best ceramic pads so far that I had are from pepboys. I don't know the brand, but I think they only have one ceramic for LSs. They are about $45-55 per axle. Almost no brake dust, like little to none. I drive for a week and the wheels still look clean.

I wouldn't buy any other brake pad than those. I bought some from ebay for our 330i, front and rear, they were supposably ceramic, paid about $110 and the damn thing dusts like the stock one.

I had those EBC Green ones once and they dust too.

I say get the ones from pepboys, the pads have a little silver plate on em if that will help.

Use the SEARCH at the top of the page for brake pads.
