Alright I read about how if those little plastic screws below the windshield wipers break or wearout water can get into the cabin of the car and make your AC not work all the time... well I think that's what happens in my car... when ever it rains or I get a car wash the AC doesn't work for a bit... the screws on the passenger side aren't doing anything... the plastic cover is on but not tight at all... the drivers side is fine... the screws don't seem to be broken just not grabbing... so my ?? is... since these little screws are 2 bucks a peice is there another fix?... maybe putting a drop of silicon on the screw and letting it set up?... any other ideas would be awesome!

Your problem is probably that the module under the blower motor has gotten wet. It controls the speed of the blower motor. There is a circuit board inside this module. If it gets wet and the connections get corroded, it will sometimes cause the blower motor to quit functioning at all. It may also cause it to come and go.

Your bigger problem is that you probably have a leak around the air inlet underneath the wiper cowl. The seam sealer that is used to seal it up, weathers over time and cracks, allowing water to leak it. You have to scrape all the old sealant off, pull the duct off. Spread a nice thick bead of sealant on the underneath side. Replace the duct and smooth out the sealant. It also doesn't hurt to spread sealant over the seam to insure a good seal.

That sounds exciting!... is there any particular kinds of sealant I should use or just any silicone type?... also is it hard to get to?

You have to remove the wiper cowls, wiper arms, the it's pretty straight forward. There is a plastic divider that bolts to the body, it is under the wiper cowl. It separates the engine bay from the air inlet, keeps the warm air from the engine bay out. Unbolt that and get it out of your way.

Any silicone sealant will do, I just used clear RTV silicone sealant, that I got from autozone. It stinks for a little while but it seems to have done the job.

Also, you'll want to attend to that module, I talked to Max, he said it was no longer available, but the last list price was over $400.

Contact Jamie, he said he had some in his garage, unless you want to try and fix it yourself. I fixed mine, but it wasn't that bad yet.

i must have gotten mine just in time (july :))

Never had this problem. Went to the car was on Sunday and no blower. Looks like I am ripping the cowl apart to lay some silicone down

Yeah I'm gonna try to do it sometime this weekend... doesn't look really hard... and my AC still works so hopefully it'll save it!!

So I got ready to do this and I couldn't figure out how to get the wiper arms off... I popped the cowl just to look underneath... there was a lot of leaves and crap!... cleaned it up and found a penny :D... anyways... how do you go about getting the wipers off?... there looks like there's a couple scews on the underside of them but how do you get to them to unscrew em?... is there an easier way?

lift the blade up a inch or 2 and slide the little tab on the side of where it mounts up, then carefully lower the wiper, it shouldnt touch the class when the tab is slid up then just wiggle the arm up

Ok I went out and looked at them again... I see a little metal tab that looks like it could move but doesn't... I pulled up a little and out and everywhere... but nope doesn't wanna move... maybe I'm not pulling them the exact right way... I know it's probably so easy I'm making it hard... but yeah... stupid windshield wiper arms
