Can I flush or bleed my brake lines using convential methods, or do I need a special scanner tool to do it right? I ask because it seems like FLM made these cars so we couldn't do any repairs at home, so I want to make sure before I start.

Aside from a cramped engine bay I've found my LS to be pretty easy to work on. I havent heard of any special scanner tools needed to bleed the brakes, just recommended that you double bleed them to get any trapped air out.

Conventional way, long lines first. The only thing I would caution, and this is with any vehicle that has not had it's fluid changed on a regular basis, is if you are doing the two person bleed for the person in the cab not to push more then 1/2 way on the brake pedal. The back of the M/C bores that don't see normal cup movement tend to develop oxidation, and the cups going back there over the corrosion abrade the sealing edge. This happens, then people start to complain about pedal to floor and a new M/C is on order.

Thanks for the tip TooManyToys...and Shred, I used to have a Dakota and I did all 4 of my balljoints in my garage and I have to do one on my LS and I can't even get the hub off, let alone get the darn thing pressed in right with an autozone tool. Everything just seems to be harder lol.

Ah ok. I luckily havent had to fiddle with the suspension yet but the LS does have a pretty complex suspension system

Too complex lol....cost too much to make. why you think stangs have mc pherson struts still?

You will need to have the engine running to bleed the brakes the conventional way.

Been there, done that.
