Best light upgrade

Sorry if I am posting a dumb question. I have looked on this site but I am stumped. I have a 2002 ls with no hid's. What is the best replacement bulb? I found this posted but am a bit confused

H11: H9 bulbs can be modified to fit by filing down a tab in the connector (compare the two bulbs to see which tab to file). Increases output from 1200 to 2100 lumens (50 to 65 watts).
9005: Can be replaced with HIR 9011 by filing down the tabs on the bulb. Increases output from 1700 to 2300 lumens at the same power consumption (65W for both bulbs).

The confusion for me is I beleive the car has 9005 and 9007 bulbs.

Why dont you just get 9006 HID kit For Low & 9005 HID kit for high lamps, why you want to modified when you can do it the right way.

ebay has a lot of options and difference colors just make sure to by good quality, dont just by the cheapest ones. v-leds.com has some good products too.

Look for a post by Mr. Howee about how to do the low-beam upgrade you mentioned above. I did the same and it works great.

I don't think you can just put in an HID kit without changing the reflector bowls in the light fixture itself, but I could be wrong.

Well, you can but: 1. It is illegal, and 2. You will be blinding people because the light will go in the wrong places.

You have three options in the order of price/difficulty/proper output.

1/1/3) Mr. Howie's light upgrade by filing down tabs on higher output bulbs for headlamps and fog lamps.

2/3/1) Projector retrofit

3/2/2) LSE/'06 conversion with OEM HID headlamps (you're going to work to find that thread)

Don't be the ******* with HIDs in their halogen headlamps. You get more light, but it's scattered in all the wrong places. The only exception I'd make is in the fogs. It still glares but if you rarely use your fog lamps I wouldn't worry about it. I have HID OEM lo's, A/M hi's, and A/M fogs. The only place I use the last two are back roads.
