Motorcraft = Lemforder = Jaguar,
Moog sounds good but I remember something about being an "R series"... [lazily googles] ah yes, while I haven't found anything concrete, Moog's R series (RK____ part numbers) is their value line. Take that as you will. That being said, if you were already asking about Moog (Rockauto, $118), I don't think you need much convincing to go with Lemforder (Rockauto, $120). I have one Motorcraft and one Lemforder. I don't have much to report back on since I have less than 3,000 miles on them in 6 months (or more, I forget).
Motocrafts not coming with ball joints has been a mystery to me, since I think Ford's standard procedure has always been to replace the whole arm for failed ball joints. I'm guessing they had more arms than balls at the end of procution. The reason why no one recommends replacing the upper BJs (and few recommend replacing lowers) as opposed to just replacing the arms is because aluminum is not forgiving. Press it in at a slight angle and you risk cracking the entire arm. The uppers are thinner and even less forgiving.
