OK folks.... I have a problem on my 01 Navigator and I posted on the Navigator forum and have not had a responce.... so pretend I am talking about my 97 Mark VIII.

When I start my "car", all of my guages go to the max pin for just a couple seconds and then return to normal. It usually does this after it has set overnight and usually not again for the rest of the day. I have not checked my batttery, but I think I have a bad cell. Anyone ever had this problem before??? The starter is dragging a bit, but I live in the midwest and yesterday it only got up to 5 degrees... about anything drags.... including me.

I had same occur on one of my Navigators, and it turned out to be a battery issue. Not same year though so don't want to pre judge. I'd take it in for a complete battery/alternator check. Doesn't take long to hook up 3 wires to portable checker that is usually on wheels. Advance Auto has them to use.:)

Battery or bad/corroded cable connections would be my first guess. If this is a 97 and has the original battery it is way beyond the normal life - replace anyway.
