This was the result of the last engine analisys done yesterday. Started hesitating while in foot to floor mode. Took it in and code was "PCM bad". What am I looking at here? The mechanic could only shake his head as one would when they tell you a loved one has only six months to live.

Buy a new/used PCM. If he wants to charge over 120 to program your new PCM bring it to the dealer. My local dealership only wants 110 to do the job.

ok

Here it is, PCM BAD, that was all he told me

There should be a five character code like Pnnnn.
I would not accept such an expensive and uncommon diagnosis without some evidence to back it up.

I would recommend buying a code reader - you can get one online fairly cheap and it will be a very handy tool for you for the future as well. Just do a search for OBD code reader. Very simple to use, and will pull codes for you to post here or do your own research. The <$50 spent could end up saving you $1000's. OR you could go to autozone or pepboys and have them pull your codes for free.

i would be careful getting "cheaper" code readers as they dont read a lot of the codes you may need.

better options would be to either buy a decent scanner, or become friends with someone who has one.

Ok, good advice

How hard is it to replace this part, and on the same note is there an OBD you guys would recommend?

Physically, it is easy to replace. You will have to then tow the car to a dealer to marry the PATS to the PCM. Be sure to take all your keys. (Note that if you only have one key, another will have to be made. The procedure requires at least two keys.)

Alternately, some $400+ scan tools will enable you to do this yourself.
