I just got my AVN 5495 Head unit yesterday. I am anxious to see how it performs. I spent about an hour just soldering my harness kit to the wiring on the headunit last night. It is about ready for installation. I have heard a few ideas on mounting the GPS antenna..I have also heard a great idea from heckler as to installing the LED for the PAC SWIX steering wheel button controller. I am just curious to know if anyone has any ideas as to where to put the GPS antenna where it will be out of site for the most part, but get a good signal. Also need to know where the closest speed sensor wire is and the color or pin number to ECM. 2002 Lincoln LS V-8 3.9L I am also installing the body kit from LSKoncepts..and the angel eye headlights, mcclaren grill and lower grill, and a spoiler. The parts are painted..just waiting on the lower grill and I will have all ready for the headunit install about Wed of next week. 14th of Sept. She is black and beautiful. I intend to post some pics,.inside and out..when I get her done. Gotta go watch some football...would love to hear suggestions or comments. thanks.

Well just in case you was still looking i used the right rear abs wire for the speed sensor wire. Little difficult to tap into but works.

Which wire did you use? What color? I found the plug for the wheel speed sensors just under the fuse box inside the car. I just don't know which color of the two to use. thanks. j

Not to steal any credit, I'm bored tonight so I am looking for things to do so I thought I would look around. I knew he posted it some where. In this post he said it was the black wire.

I appreciate the effort, however mine is a 2002 and black is not one of the colors. mine are white and yellow on one wheel, white/green and yellow/green on another wheel etc. always a white and a yellow involved..If I can find out which one it is...then I will have it. I found a plug located just under the fuse box inside the vehicle that has every wheel speed sensor wire in the plug. connector number C144. Thanks.

Ok, I just found a diagram for the connector and connectors at the wheels. It shows the yellow wire as being supply voltage..12v all the time. The other wire is being labeled as sensor signal. Therefore I should connect to the white wire because that will provide the actual speed voltage. Thanks for your help. I can't wait to get this hooked up! Hope to do it this weekend. For anyone else trying to hook up a speed sensor wire..behind the kick panel passenger side, below fuse box..is a 20 pin connector..in that connector you will find a white/green wire on pin number 9. Use this wire..it will provide the speed signal you need and easy to get to. Ofcourse this is what the Ford diagram shows..I will actually hook it up myself this weekend and post my report..I am sure it is correct.

I would think that there must be a speed sensor wire in the factory radio harness already. Otherwise how does the speed-compensated volume work?
