Just curious..my 2002 LSE is 4 years old next month. Still on the original battery after 4 years and 70,000 miles.

4-5 years. Being in the trunk and away from the elements, underhood temps, helps a bit with battery life.

Thanks. Quick question. Had my alternator replaced this summer. Since then, the intermittent "check charging system" issue has fully disappeared, and no more random ABS and AdvanceTrac warning lights. But, I notice at night that my lights slightly dim, then go back to normal on a regular basis. Occurs on smooth roads, rough roads, with A/C on or off, not associated with braking (lights). Just random. Could this possibly be caused by an failing cell in my battery? If not..any other suggestions? Again..its' very slight, but it definitely is occurring.

We have an 01 that is still on the original battery. And over 3 years of that time is in the heat of Phoenix. I can't believe how well that battery has lived. Being in the trunk makes a huge difference. The battery on my Aviator lasted two years in this heat...and that's about normal around here. Heat just kills batteries.
