So in my progression of repairing the dccv on my LS i have been researching alot about the LS especially the coolant system. One thing i was surprised about was that there is an aux. water pump that connects to the coolant system. Does anyone with extensive mechanical knowledge know why its there? I was thinking that since the LS has dual climate zone that might be a reason but didnt think so. One thing that i read as a function was continued engine off coolant circulation. Does it really do that or is it just a "booster" for the main mater pump. One other thing that i learned thru the functioning of the dccv is that the coolant flow to the aux. pump can be stopped due to the dccv completely closing. What function is it serving then and how does it adapt to no coolant flow. Just a thought.
