I am entering into an autocrossing event with the LS in a few weeks. Any quick and easy things I should do to help with handling? I plan on removing the sub/amps/etc from the trunk. Everything is stock (suspension-wise) except for the wheels/tires. (255's rear and 245's front)

I have a 1080i HD video camera and I plan on recording the LS hopefully drifting around some corners...but it would be nice if I could also get some good times out of the car!

I don't have any advice but I'm certainly looking forward to seeing your videos. Good luck!

If you plan on trying to drift, may I suggest a limited slip diff?

I've never autox'ed before, so I have no tips for you.

I have autox'd before.
you will want to add MORE pressure to your tires.

atleast 10-15 psi more, otherwise you're gonna roll over on the sidewalls of your tires at the extreme cornering limits.

my 84SVO mustang we ran 55PSI all the way around (all 4 tires)
on my mark 8 we run 55PSI in the fronts and 45PSI in the rears.

Oh yea.. best tip is..

Go slow, go easy, drive smooth..
that is gonna be much faster than "balls out hail mary driving".
get out of the gas early on the turns...use and keep your mometum up.

sounds crazy, but.. going slow will make you go quicker.

we took 3 mark 8's to the local autocross.

they put us in RWD modified class, racing against a 68 corvette with a 350, headers etc..blah blah blah.

We finished 1st, 2nd and 4th in the class, putting the corvette guy in 3rd place.
Tiff finished 4th in class at her first autocross, only .1 behind the corvette guys time.
The porche and bmw guys gave the corvette guy so much crap that he left and didn't race the second session.
