ATS light goes on

hi everyone
After a doing the brakes on my 2002 Lincoln LS, my ATS lights have started to turn on. At times ill drive for hundreds of miles without it turning on, other times it will turn on after a 1/2 mile or so. If i turn turn the car off, and then back on it wont lighten up. I was just wondering if anyone would know what the problem might be.

Did you bleed the brakes and is the fluid level correct? These would be my guesses. Also might be dirt on the sensors, I like to blow them off with compressed air.

The rear brakes were giving me a hard time, so in order to make space for the new brake pads i had to remove the brake lines and let some of the liquid out of the calipers. After finishing an puting everything together, i tried my brakes, and the car would not stop, , so i remembered i had to get the air out.
i did bleed them( the rear only), and the brakes do work fine but perhaps i did not do a good job. Also does anyone know what the ATS Sensor looks like?

There shouldn't have been a reason for you to remove the brake lines.........what kind of pads were you using?
IF THE PROBLEM IS WITH A SPEED SENSOR.........
The wheel speed sensor is an easy install....it shouldn't take you that long. All you to is disconnect the rear ABS connector, remove the harness from the control arm, clean around the sensor and install the new sensor. The front is the same way......doesn't take more than 10 minutes. The only problem you have is you don't know which one is acting up.......if in fact any are. For that you need to take it to a dealership.
