Might be able to make it on a SAT if the weather cooperates. Is the Museum easily found in the park. I have never been there. The ride down Hwy 7 is an interesting run and the only a short hop to the park (if I have the right place in mind)

It's possible I can make it as well. It is about a 3 hour drive for me e/w. Saturday would be best for me too. I have never been to Petit Jean Mountain, but have heard good things about the place.
I have been wanting to see George's car in person too, I really like those wheels. Let's schedule an LS meet!

So dave "on the lam" LS, do you call the Natural State home too?

Nate, George and I are planning on 11 a.m. Yes, I live in Conway. And yeah, George's car is the reason I wanted to get us together. That LSE is sexy.

If you need directions to the park just ask, I've got a map of AR tacked over my desk.

Where exactly are we going to meet?

The museum is where the swap meet is, and has a parking lot. If we can meet there that would be the easiest to find. Or we can meet at the overlook where Petit Jean's grave is. Great view from there out across the river valley, with the river snaking off in the distance. Or we can meet at a bait shop(dont remember if it's still in business) at the base of the mountain and ride up it in a caravan.

I'm not sure, but I think the two of you might be coming up the opposite side of the mountain than I am. It's been a while since I've been that way, and now I'm at work so no map. I'll check that out when I get home.

OK 1100 at the museum is fine with me.

Loads of hiking trails, a waterfall, state park stuff.

Your route looks good, I'll send my cell # in PM.

So guys, we still planning to meet on Saturday the 23rd even though the swap meet is scheduled for the 24th-27th? Just checking...

Yeah sorry.... I was very confused this morning. Must have been a long weekend. I had the date wrong in my calendar.

Yes, I am still planning on being at PJ at 11am on Sat. Sept. 27.

The date is rapidly aproaching.... I'm looking forward to it.

We had an unexpected nice day Sunday after the hurricane blew through. Spent 6 hours on the LS. She was in need of some TLC. Got her washed, clay bar, paint touch-up, wax, rain-ex the windows, and cleaned up the interior. Could have spent more time on the details but had things to do around the house too.
Looks incredible this morning!

I have never recieved cell phone numbers so we can hook up easier at PJ on the 27th. Please PM me with them.

Bet it does Nate; I'll get to mine on the 26th. George, my bad. PM is on the way.

I am going to try and go down Scenic 7 to get to I-40. I may have to detour around a wash out I just read about. Hopefully it won't make me late. :-)

If it does make you late, oh well, better late than never. I'll be leaving my house around 9:30ish. Even though I've been to PJ countless times I won't put it past me to make a wrong turn somewhere. I've done it a couple of times.

Any preferences where we should meet? The museum will be easy to find, but hard to find space for all of us to park together. The gravesite overlook lot might be our best bet, especially for pics.

Having never been to the Park, I was going to the museum because I found an address for it on Map quest. If you think the gravesite overlook would be better, just give me directions & I will go there instead of the museum.

The museum has limited parking available, most people park alongside the HWY and walk to the swap meet. If my memory serves me correctly, once at the top of the hill there is a road that you would turn right onto to go the the gravesite. Tell you what, this evening I'll make a little trip to the park to refresh my memory and give accurate directions to the gravesite.

Although, there is a possibility that you and Nate will be coming from the opposite side of the Mt. from me. In which case the gravesite would be past the Museum. Yeah, I'll go out that way today.

Yeah, some more specific dirrections would be nice. I have never been to PJ before and rarely made the drive east of Clarksville, so this will be new for me. I'm looking forward to it though.

I'll have to give the car another wash this Friday prior to our meet. Amazing how much dirt accumulates on a freshly-waxed black car in one week (300 mi). Should be easy to wash this time though.

I hear that, I washed mine on Sunday, 2 days later and it could stand another. I'm searching for a Park Map, if I fail to find one online I will go to PJ and pick one up to scan and post.

Definately go back 7, through Centerville. At some point you'll need to go back to run the cars at a track. Have some Gen I vs. Gen II V6 action, whoo! But, how far up 7 would you go? Just to Russellville or further, I see that you could go all the way to Harrison then get on 62 back to Rogers, but you'd be almost in MO going around Beaver Lake. I bet that is a pretty neat drive through the Ozarks.
