What's up guys,
got some extra cash today so i'm thinking of getting hid's, i have seen all
the different colors but never seen a 3k on the streets. If anyone are running them please post some pictures.

Thanks.

I have never seen them on the road but I have seen them a lot on track cars. They look good but I don't know what kind of light you would get from them. I sell the 3000K (golden yellow) HID conversion kits if interested. Here is a comparison chart on the color ranges:

I also sell the HID conversion kits now for the fog lights for the 00-02 and 03-06 LS's.

I think the 3k is the kind they run on the Le Mans 24 hour series. They do that because they're the most reliable I believe.

I have the 8000k kit and thinking about changing it to a different color. What do you guys recommend? I want them Bright as possible.

I ran the 8000K, then the 6500K and now the 4300K. The 4300K puts out more light and is more like OEM. Remember, the higher the K value the lower the illumination. 8000K is too blue for normal driving. It looks cool but I want to see the road.

Does the "higher the k, lower the illumination" have a "centerpoint" so to speak? I've got to imagine getting into a 3000K is going to have lower output than your 4300K set as they are so yellow. Thinking maybe its "the farther away from pure white (4000-5000K) the lower the illumination". what do you think Ken?

You want to produce a color that is closer to natural daylight. That's how the human eye can see farther. You have cool tones, neutral tones and warm tones. You want to improve contrast at night. The neutral tones will do this which is closer to natural light. This means anything around 3200K to 4900K. Look below for the color temperature chart. The cool tones will produce less light output than the neutral tones. If you are looking for more light output go with a neutral tone. If you just want something cool, go with the cool tones. The 3000K will be very yellow which is warmer than the neutral tones. This will produce less light than natural light and won't tire the eyes like what you would find in a standard bulb in your house. The 3000K would be great for fog lights since fog lights are really just there for oncoming traffic to see the approaching car.

There are numerous HID websites that discuss this and this is what I have researched. You'll see many opinions on the subject but you'll find that most agree that you want to stay closer to the natural day light as possible for greater projection.

Hey Ken, how much are the HID fogs? Thanks
The HID Conversion Kits start at $395 plus shipping. The Xetronic units we sell are a Japanese made product which is a certified JDM product. I have been running this set up in my LS for close to two years and have not had any problems with it. HID Xenon bulbs burn longer and produce less heat than regular halogen so they will last much longer than halogen. Some say they are designed to last the life of the car. Here is a direct link to the product:

Unfortunately, I do not. It has been quite some time since I have taken photos of my LS.

Hey Ken,

How come you don't have the eye brows on your LS.
I had them on a while back but took them off since my headlight bezel was painted. You couldn't see it with the eyebrows on.

i think that most euros are starting to put 3k on the fogs.. that yellow bulb fog light is in now.. im not big on that though...

How hard is it to do the HID conversion? Plug & play? Tapping wire? messing with connectors? I have my fathers genes & therefore electricity & I dont dont get along
