Okay.. so it flooded down here.. and it was either.. A. Going to my house.. with water comming up to my mirrors.. or B. My Girls house.. with water to the side skirts... I took option B. and now I have a weird Whine sound.. it increases with RPMs.. and Decreases with RPM.. its a rather loud whine.. like that of a SC... Its comming from the front of the car.. Its keeping air in the bags.. the air pump is running all the time.. the only thing I can think of... is maybe a pulley is going bad.. or .. a belt is going bad?

Very well could be you have filled your compressor with water. You will need to remove it sooner or later. I would just go ahead and order a replacement from American Air as well as his Spider valve as there probable is water induced into the system as well. His new unit removes this and has sight bowls that allow for draining the system.

The whistling could also be coming from the A/C bearings.

Yeah.. well we'll see.. I have to remove my inner fender well this weekend to get that dern silencer off.. so i'll just check that guy out.. see if he's fulla water.. and i'm tight budgeted.. so unfortunitly.. as much as I want to.. I won't be able to order a replacement a.s.a.p.. but if it shows problems.. i'll defintly park it till I can fix... I'll check the ac bearings too.. my buddy had the same whistle.. and a belt and new pulleys fixed it.. of course... he went with Under drive pulleys.

The 96 has two compressors up front. One is for the AIR emission system, the other for the air ride! :)

I would never drive a car in water, period! I hydro-locked mine. Think I wanted to put a new engine in? no! LOL

Well it was a must.. either be late to work.. loose my job.. or drive through maybe 200 foot of water at 5-6 inches deep.. so theres 2 compressors up there? I'll have to look at it tommorow.. I need more time.. weekends aren't enough for me anymore... geez.. between my girlfriend and my girlfriend.. I don't have time for crap... lol.. i think i might be getting too deep.. lol.. nahh jk.. but seriously though.. my motor could be tore up? As in.. replacement tore up? it runs just fine.. good oil pressure, water temp, no thrown codes.. no knocking.. oh man... this could be bad...

You would loose you job due to severe weather? Thats would be illegal.

Anyway, your motor is probably fine if its still running smooth and not making weird noises.

Well illegal and not caring enough is two diffrent things.. laws like that really dont hold up down here.. dunno why. Either way.. I imagine waters loosened up a belt.. or a pulley.. maybe both.. or the compressor could go bad.. I didn't drive in high enough water to mess the motor up... *knocks on wood*...
