I have a 2000 LS8 Gen 1 car, and I do not have any heat in my car. I have poured through every posting I can find on this forum, and have tried the following
1: Changed the thermostat (and the whole neck and surrounding parts cause I broke the plastic... i hate plastic)
2: Bled, Bled, and re-bled the coolant system
3: Changed out the DCCV
4: At the suggestion of this forum, i ran a self diagnostic for the Climate Control, and got a code of 12-65 which someone was nice enough to tell me it is a Floor Door Actuator Circuit Failure.
Here is the problem....
I have no idea where this door is! I have already taken apart part of my dash and center console, so if someone can tell me where this is, and better yet the procedure to test the parts under there I would really appreciate it. I have seen the GEN2 one, but I still don’t know where any of the parts are, or if the procedure is the same. Any help would be a godsend right now, I have work tomorrow, and a car that’s pulled apart. Thanks for any help in advance.

i would ask joegr, he would know what that code is - if it even exists

LOL yeah, he was the one that provided me with the code, and the link for the tech book for the gen 2, I just dont know if thats the procedure for the Gen1 like mine..., Thanks anyway Joegr, at least I know what is wrong... now I just need to find it, lol. I will definately check out that forum.

I'm a little late to the party with this, but here you go:

The floor door actuator & cold air bypass door actuator are both behind the lower dash panel under the ignition. It is held on with three bolts and will a part number YW4H-19E616-EA (Floor Door) and YW4H-19E616-BA (Cold Air Bypass Door). With the floor vent removed, you can see the floor door inside the vent opening. When switching from floor to dash vents, you should be able to see the door open and close to verify that it works.

Code 1265 is actually a Cold Air Bypass Door Actuator Circuit Error. It could be a bad circuit or a mechanical problem with the door, but is most likely a failed actuator motor.

Actuator — Cold Air Bypass Door

Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Remove the LH instrument panel insulator. (lower dash panel)
a. Disconnect the electrical connector. (trunk & fuel door switches)

3. Remove the LH floor duct.
4. Remove the actuator.
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the screws and remove the actuator.
5. Note:
New door actuator assemblies are shipped with the actuator in the mid-position. If reinstalling an actuator removed from the vehicle, use jumper wires to electrically drive the actuator to the mid-position to assist in assembly.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

l If reinstalling an actuator removed from the vehicle, align the arrow (1) on the actuator housing with the line on the actuator coupling (2).
