an other 5 speed swap ?

I've looked at it on tccoa a while back for my bird but I can't go on their site any longer so.....
things I need:
Trans
Clutch
Pressure plate
Flywheel
supercoupe clutch pedal asymbly
Supercoupe master cylinder
An extra shifter box
Custom driveshaft
Oh and money and time I got time and with time ill get money
Anything else I'm missing?
Its goin to be a long process getting a 96 mark engine and 2 t45s for dirt cheap... rebuilding it all and build everything out side the car before I throw it in..... not sure if I wanna throw it in my mark or my bird......what do people think is the harder swap to put the dohc in a bird or the 5 speed in a mark
 
They were advertising a 6-speed swap for $7k or some crazy amount of money. That reminded me that I had a friend who bought the T-5, console, and clutch pedal assembly out of my wrecked '88 Turbo Coupe and put it in a 1987 Thunderbird LX with the 3.8L V-6. It worked nicely and made that 'Bird drive like a different car. Those old 3.8's may not have had but 140hp, but they had plenty of torque down low.
 
Two different bellhousing-to-block bolt patterns. T-45 has an integral bellhousing, T-5 has a separate bellhousing. You would have to buy an adapter plate to fit a T-5 bellhousing to a Modular block, and I have never heard of such a plate. also a flywheel with the correct balance for the Mod eng, and small enough to fit inside the T-5 bellhousing and right tooth count, clutch with the correct spline-count to fit the T-5's input shaft, not to mention starter bolt alignment also.

But the T-45 is the route to go.
 
T-45 is the cheap route to go as all the needed parts are available from the factory, no custom bits needed really. Biggest hassle is putting the pedals and moving the ECM to the back deck in a Mark.

Easiest is putting a DOHC into the Bird.

you might want to consider a termec 6060 if you have the cash no shifter probelm and strong but a little pricyer and i think you have to go with a hydrolic clutch with this trans.

ok i was cornfuzzed. i thought mike said he used a t5 but after reading his thread i see i was wrong. i have this memory problem its called short term something........
 
Well I'm getting the engine and 2 t45s for less than 200 so I can't really beat that....its a long process for sure and I'm determined to do it its goin to be a project so....and I have my dad that is a wiz with electrical crap..... so I'm sure he can make a connector to extend the wires how ever far I need to make them....id love the 6060 but yeah a bit outta my range and plus I get experience on rebuilding the t45s or I can rebuild and sell both t45s and maybe come up with half the money for a 6060 lol
 
I would reccomend th tr3650 out if the 05 and up mustangs. Front what I understand that will put the shifter in the perfect spot.

well the way i see it, it has to be the same measurement from the bell housing to the shifter on the 6060 as on the 3650 because they both poke out of the same spot on the s197 and they both bolt to the same location because the mounts and bellhousing on the 5.4 and 4.6 are the same. just my thinkin.
