Has anyone tried the alum housing that is for a 2002 to 2003 Jag on the LS V8? I was going to replace the DCCV & flush system and thought now would be a good time to replace the whole housing. Car has 109,000 mi and has never had anything done to the cooling system. Rockauto has it for 40 bucks. And also should I replace T stat with a 183 or 190 temp ? I think it calls for a 183.

I think that the stock temperature is 195. (The service manual says that it passes the test if it opens between 192 and 219.)

There is no real advantage to using a colder thermostat, but there are some drawbacks to doing so. I'd stick with stock.

Napa shows a Stant 183 temp. for a 2002 lincoln ls V8. I will call ford garage and see what they say it should be. I think I will go ahead and order the housing from rockauto I will let you guys know how it works.
