Alternator bearings?

Does anyone know if just the bearings in a 98 Mark can be replaced? I had mine checked at Advance off the car and it was charging fine, but the bearings sounded shot.

done it several times. got an empty coffee can full of random alternator bearings from my mark, f150s, and a SHO.

So how hard is it to remove bearings and press in new ones?

if you can get the alternator apart, its really not too bad. i don't remember if the coil thingy has to be un-soldered or not.
depends on which alternator i think. the older ones (first gen) are harder to do.

In MN I get them at gofer bearing or grangers

I just threw one away yesterday for this problem. I'm too lazy to replace bearings on a $50 part.

What size or type of bearings do I ask Granger for?
