I'm looking to buy 4 All Seasons online for dirt cheap. Not looking for anything best quality/high performance. Just anything to replace my stripped wheels will suffice.

I'm in Ottawa/Canada so I want to ship to Ogdensburg/NY and pick it up across the border. Tires would have to be made in USA/Mexico so there's no duty.

Any suggestions on websites and tires?

Right now I've got 235/50R17. A guy at Midas said that 225/55R17 might work too.

Have you considered looking around on Kijiji for something slightly used ?

I have my other summers from last year (17's) in storage and waiting
on my new rims to arrive for which I will be needing new rubber for.

I'll be looking to get rid of those 17's, trouble is I can't do it immediately.

TireRack.com (USA)
DiscountTireDirect.com (USA)
1010Tires.com (CA - BC - save tire tax)
DiscountsOnTires.com (CA - QC)
TireTrends.com (CA - BC - save tire tax)

Also pay attention to CanadianTire/Walmart fliers. Sometimes they run 40% off clearances. That's how we scooped up a set of 4 brand new Dunlop winters for even less than from TireRack.

Hit the Thanks button if my post was helpful :) ---->

Yeah man, I'm looking on Kijiji, but no one has the 235/50/17 or even 225/55/17. It's a rare size.

In December I picked up 2 Pirelli winter tires, had been used 2 seasons, from Kijiji for $150 for both (were $300/ea new). Previous owner had them on Jaguar which they had sold. Was huge difference because my all-season were stripped. When snow came, I had absolutely no grip, got stuck all the time. I threw these 2 on the rear and had a good winter.

That's a video from my dash cam the day of the first big snowfall. In the second part, you can see me going into guard-rail. I was on the 4 stripped all-seasons that day. I had bought the 2 winter tires at that point, but couldn't find a place to install them, cause there was a wait of like a week at most garages.

I'm looking to buy around end of March to beginning of April, so if you want to sell your old ones, I'm definitely up for it. What brand and how many km did you do on them?

Just a side note. I live in ogdensburg and work at napa. Napa also sells tires. I could maybe find you a deal through my work and you could drive across and pick them up.

Dude, that would be awesome. Right now the cheapest I've found are $100/ea + $60 shipping to Ogdensburg/NY + $24 NAC Logistics ship/pick-up fee. Not sure if you can find a cheaper price than that.

When I check Walmart, they don't even have 235/50/17 or 225/55/17's. At CanadianTire, cheapest I've seen are some no-name brand for $150/ea.

That was you on RFD? I remember your video.. Mofesto?

I see ... that turn heading towards Baseline on Merrivale Rd. is indeed a shape turn with little room.

TIP: always attempt to position yourself on the inside of turns or bends in the roads, this allows for "skidding" room leaving some correction time.

Previous owner had them on for half a season and I put the remainder of last years summer on them.
I can take some pictures of the thread left on them later. (plenty)

As I said, I do have to secure my new 19's rim and tires before I'd feel comfortable getting rid of them.

They are 225/50R17 94W General Exclaim UHP. (discontinued) http://tires.canadiantire.ca/en/tires/performance-tires/product/0051930P/general-tire-exclaim-uhp/

One is brand new since Sept 13th, 2012 due to road hazard replacement. (pot hole)

Reads M/S Radial on them.

abstract:
All-Season Tires with Mud and Snow Designation
If a tire has MS, M+S, M/S or M&S on it, then it meets the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) guidelines for a mud and snow tire.

but I wouldn't drive on them in the winter with an LS.

Yeah lol. I knew there must be some RFDer's on here. Probably some Redditors somewhere here too.

C'mon, de-chrome your LS. You know you want to :shifty:

Funny, I am also with Belair.. definitely not looking forward to the day something happens to my LS.

Same tires here, they get rock hard at around 0C. They are more of a summer tire TBH.

Bahahaha. I swear to God, next idiot that rear ends me, I'm going to f### them up. That stupid b#### caused me 3 months of headaches trying to get settled with bel air. 20+ hours talking with those idiots. Next time I'm not going to spend a second with them on the phone, I'm going to lawyer up immediately. And I'm going to record all the conversations next time too. The stupid s### they said to me, would have made for a mad lawsuit. Got a call recorder from eBay for $25 that records 650 hours. I'll be prepared next time.

I hear TD insurance is better. I'll be ditching belair first chance I get.

Honestly though, worst experience of my life. Spent good money on a car, some idiot runs into me, and insurer gives 0 s### about getting me the full value back. And then people telling me I should be happy with the mediocre job they did remedying the situation. I pay crazy amount on insurance each month, and get shafted when it comes time to collect. Man I tell yea, so much rage...

I wouldn't trust any "all season" tires in the snow. I spent Friday morning fishtailing all over the highway doing 20mph on my all seasons. I ended up turning around and banging out of work. I will be Putting snow tires on my stockers by next winter.

fwiw, 235/55-17s fit as well if you are in a pinch..
stock ride height, no rub, speedo exactly matched my iphone gps rolling down I70 @ 70 mph.

picked them up in the aforementioned walmart clearance.

Been running winter tires on my LS8 every winter since we got it and never had an issue in winter (snow, ice, snow storms, etc). If you're in Ottawa you get more snow and ice than us in Toronto so consider a regular winter tire versus a performance winter tire (eg. Blizzak WS series versus LM series). I ran the Blizzak WS60 tires for 4 or 5 winters and the LS went through any kind of winter weather we dealt with and never got stuck or even fishtailed that much. I got a deal on a 1-winter used set of Michelin X-Ice tires when I replaced the Blizzaks, and while they were great winter tires they didn't handle deeper snow as well as the Blizzaks.

Man, last year I had a used Chev. Cavalier with all-winter tires. It seems the tires were the only good thing on that tin-can. But even in snow that car handled like a breeze.

So I was really surprised this year in the LS. Had to be that the tires were a combination of summer/performance (as opposed to all-season) and completely stripped, because you should get even some grip in the snow without winter tires.

Anyway, I picked up two winter Pirelli's for the back and the rest of the season was alright. Only had trouble the first day of snowfall that I couldn't move. On a budget, the RWD helped, since I didn't even have to change all 4. I'm sure when my wife starts to drive I'll have to put more money into it. But I manage just fine -- just need to drive slow and leave plenty of space.
