How does this printout look for an alignment on my Eibach lowerred LS?

LS%20alignment.jpg

you get that from JV?

Almost everything is in factory spec except for the camber, which will never be in spec w/o a camber kit and there isnt one made for the LS.

You toe was out of whack and that is what eats your tires more than camber. Now at least toe is in spec and camber is VERY close.

Looks good to me.

NO...They cancelled my appt for today last night. They said they were backed up. This was done at a local Firestone.

It looks to me that they didn't even try to correct your front camber at all.

Look at the "actual & before"! All they did was adjust the toe, which is easy for anyone to do. Not the camber, which is hard and takes time & skill. The camber actually got worse! I hope you didn't pay them to adjust your camber, because they didn't! It's all right there on the alignment report.

Your front Camber is still too far out of range for my taste.
They should have gotten it closer to the -0.70 spec. My front camber, with the Eibach springs is -0.55 on both sides. No alignment kit, no cam bolts, no voodoo. Just proper adjustment from an expert alignment shop, who know what they are doing.

If it were me, I would take your LS back to that shop and tell them to CORRECT THE CAMBER. Do it before the guarantee on their work is up.

They do guarantee their work don't they?

I appreciate some of the info.
I don't know what you mean by "I hope you didn't pay them to adjust your camber" I paid for an alignment, I've never seen where you pay for toe or camber.
I am heading to the Firestone today to see what can be done to get it closer to spec.

I actually had the same thing happen to me. The guy said I would need a camber correct kit on the front right from the factory but they didnt have one and would cost 4 days and 200$. My print out was good to me and the weird thing was my whole problem to begin with was my rear tires went after 4 months, completely! Thats why I was in for a allignment anyways.

I think some mechanics dont know and some may just try to rip you off. After I left my car was or at least felt better then when I arrived...??

You see they get you for the allignment and then tell you....You need this right front bolt. They then tell you its gunna cost yah, at least for my EXP with a bad place. I think thats what he ment...the camber can be corrected right off the bat in the front and you realy dont need the little bolt anyway its allready there.

it's tough to get get camber in range on a lowered car. since the befor and after are the same I'd figure he had it adjusted to it's limits already and it couldn't be adjusted an further....

What I meant Strapp was that if you paid for a "Complete" wheel alignment, you didn't get one. I would take the car back, tell them it doesn't feel right and to do the alignment again. Then look at the new report and if it's not closer to spec, ask them why.

While, yes, it may be difficult to get a decent alignment on a lowered LS, from my experience, I find it very hard to believe that they could not get it closer to the factory specs than that. -1.40 is WAY out of range when if should and could be -0.70 degrees of camber.

It really comes down to what you are willing to live with, but to me, that's a big difference and I wouldn't settle for it.

I spoke to the manager and I'm scheduled to return next week(prob Friday). He said that his #1 aligment guy was not in yet when I got my alignment. We'll see how it turns out; I'll post the results.

HAHA that figgures, I love that saying...My #1 man was out so Billy Joe No Brain must have helped you out right?

Great way to treat employees, youd figgure any manager would be a head technichian and be able to help you out.

How do the control arm bushings affect the alignment?

I've had a Sears & Tire Kingdom tell me they won't do an alignment b/c of the worn out bushings, another Sears (same state, diff city) did the alignment perfectly. I'm due for another alignment since I put the 20's on.

They wanted you to pay more, thats all. And why the hell go to Sears, my girlfriend got ripped by them she paid about 700 bucks to have her brakes fixed cause the said this and that was wrong with the car and it was a 98 Jeep Wrangler. When she got home I noticed none of the work they claimed was done except the pads, thats why we went in anyway.Abd the rotors were supposed to be shot but the just shaved them down. Then the next morning brake fluid was everywhere. I dont think they try to ripp people off as much as tey dont know what the hell they are doing youd be just as god to go to Wal Mart youll get the same :q:q:q:qy service at a cheaper price.

If c/a bushings are shot there will be too much play in the control arm to do the alignment properly. the arm will literally move around even though all the bolts have been tightened up...

Absolutely correct. Had that issue on the M3.

As far as my lowered LSE, I had the local Ford Dealership install the Eibachs/Struts/Shocks, and they had no issue aligning the LSE. I've rotated the tires once, at about 5k miles (actually I just reminded myself it's time again) and so far all look to be wearing evenly.
