02 LS8 54K--I have an airbag code 36. It is killing me. I have installed the under seat harness per the dealership and posts here. I have also replaced the clock spring due to code 32 I think. These things reduced the number of occurrences. After all of this I still have an intermittent code 36. This is killing me--I have to restart the car 2-4 times to get the light to go off, and sometimes it will not go off at all. I go through several week periods of light on all the time--no light. Anyone have any other ideas. The dealership where I live is TERRIBLE and the next closest one is about 125MI away.
Thanks--Steven

the 36 is usually a short - so when the clock-spring fails - it's actually a ribbon cable in the steering column that wear through - causing multiple wires to rub through bare and short to each-other.

Quik explains what the 36 problem actually is in the thread I'm linking.

Haven't heard of it being anything else other than the connector or the clock spring. But maybe someone will chime in with another suggestion.

Thanks. I am posting in that thread too. I hoped to get Quick's opinion on the 3-6.
