Hi I own a '00 v6 with 127600 miles. I was going down i95 pulling onto the exit. As I was turning the wheel, my passenger side airbag just deployed for no apparent reason. Thankfully no one was in the passenger seat when this happened. I did have issues with the cruise control not engaging (no indication on dash either.) I read that the clock springs on these cars are notorious for failing. Could the clockspring be responsible for this?

That's a crash detected code. Probably triggered when the airbag deployed.

If you really want any help, please answer was it the bag in the dash or the bag in the side of the seat?

You'll have to look at the front crash sensors, safety sensors, RM (restraint module), and the wiring. Normally, I would say that you could narrow it down to the RM and the wiring since the driver's bag didn't blow, but you already know that you have a bad clockspring that prevented the driver's bag from going off.
I guess it's one of those rare cases where a bad clockspring helped to avoid an accident lol. I never had any lights on the dash for the airbag prior to the incident. Just the cruise control and volume buttons not working. Horn worked perfectly. Just putting it out there. I'm having a new airbag put in and replacing the RM and crash sensors today.

I have no helpful info on this, and I'm being a smart a$$. Did you crap your pants? I would have. Airbag deployed, no one next to me, no crash. That's something.

It depends on the exact failure, but usually no.
