I did a search on these forums but I must be retarded or it's not been discussed much. I'd like to use Universal Air Suspension parts to build a simple air suspension system. Just enough to raise it for driving and lower it to look pretty. I don't need FBSS or any fancy equipment as I plan to conceal it all anyway. I'm not sure what bags to use though and would like some opinions. I'd also like to see some installation walk throughs. It doesn't matter if it's not an LS, just something visual.

I think the best bags to go with re the aero sport from universalairsuspension.com they slip right over the strut you can contact them and they'll give you all the info you need. You can also piece a setup together and buy just what you need instead of paying a ton of money for stuff you dont need.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't done an air setup yet so this will be my first. I'm not sure exactly what all is needed. This may sound like an out there question but could I just through the bags on and fill each bag with my garage air compressor to a good amount? If I don't really ever adjust the ride height, is the need for the compressor and air tank and what not still there or do the bags still lose air naturally and need to be refilled every few days or however long it lasts?
 
Yes and Yes to your later questions. From talking with AirRide themselfs the bags can be inflated manually with no compressor on board and remain at fixed ride height but you would need to check them frequently as they will loose air slowly over time. If you are doing it on the cheap and eventually plan on having the compressor, I'd mount the bags and run the lines back to where you plan on putting the solenoid block and put the scheader valves there so you have 1 central point to monitor the pressures and fill them.

That totally takes away the point of air bags.
 
Check out streetsource.com in the owner profiles. There are a couple of LS's on there that have Air-Ride. Also coming from a person that has had quite a few Air-Ride vehicles, I would suggest having FBSS so you can Adjust each wheel individually. If you only have FB the car will sit lower on which ever side is heavier. Also you will have a lot of body-roll because the air will transfer from side to side when you corner.
 
Thanks for the replies. For the comment about taking away the point of air bags, it's like this. I want an adjustable suspension. I also want a good ride quality. The only answer is air bags. I'm not into showing off my air ride or anything like that. I just want to be able to tweak my suspension to the exact height I desire while maintaining a smooth ride. Air suspension will allow me to do exactly what I want. Eventually I will probably add a compressor and a tank and what not so that I can lay it down low when I feel froggy but will probably never use it anyway.
 
Then dont waste the money on bags and get the leada suspension from LSK. That still takes away the point, I hear what your saying but it still isnt the best option for you case.
 
Another thing is that you probably wont get to much different of a ride hight with the factory coil overs/springs etc. any ways. Everyone I know of suggests using coil overs with the bags to begin with. If you aren't looking for being able to adjust the height with a switch its probably best for you to just figure out a coil over kit.

Those guys over at VIPSTYLECARS know what they are talking about so I would ask them, honestly. Most of them buy 48k$$ cars and dump over 10G's in it right off the bat so they are of good help when you need some info and suggestions.
 
what kind of suspensions these cars come stock... never had such a great/smooth ride besides my ls and jag
 
does anyone know where i can buy a bolt on air suspension set up at.. i think air suspension is cool
 
Try to look at Airlift. They now make a universal kit that will work on the LS.
