Air filter

I need a little help, how do I change the air filter on my 2000 LS V8.
the cover doesnt want to budge. This is supposed to be simple isn't it?

Undo the screw that hold the box in place. Undo the maf sensor plug and unscrew the clamp on the tube and pull the whole box out. This is easier than messing around with trying to just take the top off.

Once you un-snap the flaps, looking at the filter from the front of the car looking down at it, will be a screw down between the strut housing and the airbox. This holds the box down so it cannot be lifted out and stays securely fastened.

Unscrew the bolt and remove it and the air box will lift right up and you can then open it the rest of the way with the flaps you un-snapped.
