I've been dealing with a vibration for awhile now that made the steering wheel look like it was having a seizure. If i let go it would keep a straight line but the steering wheel would bounce all over. I was hoping it wasnt some sort of mechanical suspension or steering problem. I was about to get an alignment to see if that would help. Well... I was under the car changing my oil on thursday and i noticed on the front/drivers tire there was an "indention" right where the sidewall meets the tread, it was about 6-8 in. long. Now last November i had one of my rear tires completely fall apart on me while on the highway, i posted some pics of the carnage. The tires are all the same brand and bought at the same time. I couldnt believe that i had yet another $200 tire falling apart. I will never be a Bridgestone customer again. Anyway i got a new tire mounted yesterday and the car is back to driving very smoothly for a 105k mile car. At around 70 mph the steering used to be terrible and now its back to normal with no vibration and tight control. If your having problems with your steering, first thing should be checking the tires.
