I have a 2001 LS non-alpine radio, it has the cassette in the head unit and 6 Disk CD in the glove box

I also saw one with 2 RCA cables?

2) I have all the symptoms showing i need to replace my clockspring:
Air bag light 3/2
Horn Not Working
Steering wheel buttons for radio not working properly
One other issue I have is the illumination on my radio not working, is this because of the clockspring or the actual radio? and if i dont fix my clockspring, but install an aftermarket radio, will that also not have any illumination?

The illumination issue is an internal problem with your factory radio. It is not related to the clockspring.
For an aftermarket radio, to get day/night illumination, you will have to add a wire from the ashtray light for from the message center button illumination. The factory radio doesn't have such a connection because it gets illumination info from the data bus.

Those are just for plugging into the factory connection so you don't have to splice your factory connection to the new cd player wires.

he is confused on which harness he needs to get, not what is the point of the harness.

both of those harnesses will work if you dont have the factory subs. if you do have the factory subs, then you will want the second option. the ones with the two rca plugs is a better choice. since you will need to plug them into the sub outs on the new radio to get them to work.

Loud, if you don't have the harness with the RCAs can you still wire them up to work? I think I wanna just switch that amp over to highs since I'll have rhe sub back there.
