Advice Needed - Accident Last Night in Minneapolis

Sorry for the lack of updates - lots of stuff going on (arranging for one-way rental car, stuff at work, etc.).

Basically called all the nearby yards. Best offer so far is $500, with one or two more who haven't looked at the car just yet but estimated anywhere from $500 - $850.

I'll definitely be leaving Minneapolis tomorrow afternoon (although I am flexible on the time if you need me to hang around for a little bit). I'd rather the car go to you guys for parts even if its just for the same amount as the yards.

Only thing is you'd have to let me know as soon as possible by today and/or keep an eye on it so that it doesn't get towed. I also have 2 sets of keys for her (but only 1 remote on me). I will be back up here in Minneapolis next Thursday at the latest (got something going on at UMN) so I can bring up the title, stock radio and the full retail packaging / accessories for the Kenwood headunit (box, manuals, warranty reg card, remote, etc.).

If you need to get in touch with me in a hurry, call my cell (515-441-2303) since USI wireless sucks :|

In all seriousness, I can keep the car at my dads work for a while until we can find someplace to bring it to. I'm still good for like $150.

Plus, think of all the light bulbs we can scavenge out of it!

I got some serious financial responsibilities right now, but I can still pay you guys back if you buy my part of the car. Just gimme a few weeks lol.

If you guys want to contact me here is my infoes: 612-655-6676

Many apologies gents. A local yard gave me an offer I couldn't refuse by yesterday afternoon ($1200  ) and have already made arrangements to have the car transported.

Thanks again to everyone for your help! :)

Cool. That's way more than I can afford for a parts car right now. Glad you got at least a down payment on the next car out of it!

Another LS?

Hell yes! :D

I've got so much effort invested in the darned line (in terms of learning the nitty gritty trying to fixup the 01 LS8) that I guess I kinda have to :P Unless you guys can recommend something better for around a 15K price point.

For now, it's back to my backup car - 98 Cavalier :p

Depends on what you mean by "better"

More economical? 02V8Sport went to a Mazda Speed6

More power? 02V8Sport went to a Mazda Speed6

More features? <-- I think the LS is pretty high in this aspect though, compared to other vehicles in this price range (year and mileage being equal)

That being said, I love the LS. I love the aesthetics. And for 15K, you may be able to pick up an 06 if you shop around.

Do eeet.

Easily if you forgo the THX/NAV! I paid just under $16 for a loaded '06 with a little less than 33K miles.

well hes going to get a huge fine. you can take him to court since he is responsible, but if he can.t afford insurance, good luck getting any money. i hate to say it, but a judgement in your favor doesn.t necessarily mean you gettingbpaid.
Isn't MN a no fault insurance state(Complete BS if you ask me)? Are you saying you can force the at fault driver pay even though it's no fault state?
