Well I know it just makes the car heavier, and I'm probably too old but I couldn't pass up the deal. 120 bucks for two subs all the wiring a cap and an amp. Ive never heard of the amp brand but the subs are kicker comps. I wired it in to the factory speakers by splicin up some rca cables. And it actually sounds good. The amp is an auto tek 1000 watt. has anyone heard of this. And no its not stolen an ex employee was desperate to pay his snap on bill. I'll have pics tomorrow.

For a hundred and twenty bucks... not bad. I'd be hard pressed to turn down a complete stereo at that price. If the amp turns out to suck, you're already most of the way there anyways, just replace it with a quality amp and you'll be good.

Well here are the pics. It hits hard as hell. But I still havent heard of the amp, if anyone has let me know what you think.

Well it appears that the Autotek line is owned by a company called Maxxsonics. This company is based out of Chicago and also owns Hifonics, Crunch, and MB Quart. While I don't know much about the Autotek brand it appears that it is one of Maxxsonics middle lines.

I know MB Quart went downhill when Rockford Fosgate bought them several years back, then it appears that Maxxsonics picked up the MB quart line sometime in 2005. While I have heard that MB Quart is not the same as it once was, apparently the manufacturing of the product is still taking place in the German facility.

Maxxsonics seems to be doing well with the MB Quart line so far, so they must be an okay company. I wouldn't be turned away from it just because it's a lower line, it's still not the Crunch line, so it's probably a little better than terrible. If you want big power and sound you have to spend big money!

If you got a deal on it, what the hell, run it for awhile!

I take that back, apparently in late of 2008 MB Quart went into receivership status again. Apparently because of German labor laws it makes it very difficult for a company to do much of anything with the plant. Other companies keep buying them but can't seem to keep the plant afloat for very long.

It seems that Maxxsonics kept the MB Quarts name but is no longer manufacturing in Germany. The Germany plant is now producing it's own line of speakers under the name of German Maestro.

Still doesn't mean that Maxxsonics is a bad company, hell if Rockford couldn't keep the Quart line afloat, what do you expect from Maxxsonics.

Oh yeah BOOO Rockford Fosgate! I hate RF!

thanks for all the research.
  it sounds pretty good so i am gonna run it for a while. I would prefer MA audio and at least 1500 watts on those subs. I know they can take it.

I've never really dealt with any MA audio, I'm a Memphis user myself. I've been punishing the same 500 Watt Mono Block for about 4 years now and still no problems.
