AC Compressor leaking oil

I haven't noticed this issue on the forum yet. Has anyone else had this problem? It's on my 2004 V8, with just over 100K miles. The compressor is well soaked with a light yellow colored oil. Items below the compressor are covered too, including the engine oil pan. Also, there is now sometimes a loud humming noise under the hood. It builds up and then fades away. The AC is still cooling well.
I assume that it would be best to go ahead and have the seals or the compressor replaced before failure occurs.
