I am going to be installing pillar pods this weekend and i looked for how to pull off the pillar in de-markos thread and the tech article. I just dont want to crack the plastic or break any tabs.

are there any little screws holding it or just clips.

and I will post pics when all done

No screws, just clips. They hold pretty hard.

+1 on pulling the weather stripping first. I used a long flat tip screwdriver with firm but gentle pressure to get the first one popped off when I was fixing the dreaded moonroof drain leak in my 2002. You should be cool as long as you don't just yank on the corners or something.

You'll have to drill some holes to put in the screws that hold this to the A pillar.
My pillar pod didn't come with the factory clip configuration on the back,
just 2 holes on the face.
I located the proper place, drilled some 1/8" holes, used some 3 1/2 inch deck screws and put them through a 2 inch or so piece of foam on the inside to secure the pod firmly to the pillar.

yeah diffinatly not doing this the way most people would im mounting the pod from behind the pillar cover and cutting the shape of the pod so it comes through and painting the pods brown to match the dash. I dont want some hunk of plastic showing or any screws.

It's going to be harder than that. If you want the cleanest look, I would just buy 2 single pods, place them over the stock a-pillar, hot glue gun on, fiber glass them in place and use a fabric that matches the interior to finish them off.

i realize that, I would like to do that but what I was saying is don't what a huge piece of black plastice zip screwed to the pillar. I will play around with some different looks but I figure if i mount from the back then blend there won't be any bumps or uneven areas on the pillar, I will find out though

There wont be bumps on the pillar but it will probably stick out too much from it's stock look. Thats what prevented me from just mounting it over the stock pillar, I know you said under though so hopefully it works out. Keep us posted, interested in these results.

lol I'm hoping it will work out and being mounted from under will help keep it from sticking way out, which I don't want at all
