Anyone have one on there Mark 8 with a pic?

I would like to install a 3 gauge pod but the universal Autometer ones don't look like they would even be close. The guage pod for the 94-2000 Mustang looks the closest but I have only ones I have found for 3 gauge are full pillar

Help Please

That poster says it only will work for gen II, I have a gen I, but I don't see much of any difference in the shape of his Gen II a pillar trim from my Gen I, I'll check it out.

Thanks

Actually reading back, read the top paragraph .. I thought they were the same, but i MUST be wrong..

as stated, that pod will not work in your car.

This has been convered TONS of times for gen 1's go get a universal 3 gauge pillar pod from or one from glow:q:q:q:q/autometer for a stang...it'll screw right on.

Gen 2's have more of a U shape pillar and are pretty much identical to the late model t birds and thats why it took me so long to find one that was pretty much an exact fit.

I've held both A pillar moldings in my hand and never noticed a difference, you learn something every day!

I only need a 1 gauge pillar mount, only 1 gauge worth adding to my car...

i could be wrong, its been forever and a day since i've been anywhere near a gen 1, well over a year ago i sold my 93 and now that i looked at some pictures on this site of pillar gauges the trim does look pretty close on both models, so maybe a gen 1 is the same as a gen 2.

I just remember seeing some gen 1's with 3 piece glowshift setups that used mustang pods and i remember it being much fatter.

pretty much anything can fit with modification but i wanted as close to stock as possible and the 94-97 birds have identical pillar trim as my gen 2 (shape wise not length)

I'd rather spend 200 on gauges and a pod and have money left over from the 600 bones it costs for that set up, besides I use mechanical gauges I don't trust the elecrical ones.

Well... Your choice. I'd rather not bring hot oil and coolant inside the car.

There's a reason it costs 600... bones. But I think you want actual gauges for the bling bling factor. You can admit it, we'll still like you. :D

Cool rig tho I wonder how long the LCD lasts in UV

That's a silly question. How long it lasts in UV? What's UV light have to do with the LCD? It's an automotive LCD, it lasts 3 billion hours. There! :p

Great looking setup Frog, it is on my next big thing list. Thanks for the lead.

I'm thinking of installing a trans temp, oil pressure and volt meter...

Why don't you take it easy ther pal, I wasn't trying to insult you what's up with the shots?

Bling Bling Factor WTF? I don't run with that crowd I could give crap less, fuction before form. You know there are a few folks on here that have been around a while and have built a few cars and have even held or hold professional driving licences. I prefer to go with what I know works and has worked for me for a LONG LONG TIME. Mechanical Temp gauges bring no hot coolant into the car, they use capilary tubing. I use Autometer Pro Comp gauges and also use AN line and fittings with all fluid gauges. I have never seen this fail yet, even once when I had the relief valve in an oil pump stick on my 360 sprint. The 100 psi guage got pegged so hard that it broke the spring and the gauge or line still didn't leak. You wanna talk about Bling Factor I'd say that set up screems it more than than a good ol mechanical gauge set up. I am looking for a pod because it would be the most logical and sanitary way to mount mechanical gauges w/o cutting up the stock dash, period.

Silly question, not really. Even the LCDs on Pannasonic tough books can be damaged depending on the exposure. The one I had for work that was in my work car lasted about a year and a 1/2 in PHX. It would be my guess that the tough book has an LDC that is at least on par with that gauge set up, but I'm not a technogeek and don't keep up with the latest and greatest stuff like that, hell I don't even own an LCD or plasma TV.

There infinity! JEEZ! (shakes head)

LMAO! Well who lit your tampon?

Simmer dude, I was giving you friendly chit.

I've had LCD screens in vehicles for years with no failure of the LCD screen due to UV light. This includes glass cockpits (lots of LCD screens) in aircraft, AVIC series receivers in cars, laptops, and other such stuff. Never had one fade due to UV damage. Most automotive LCD's will have a UV layer. Toughbooks, I don't know if Panasonic uses UV filters on their screens. Even if they do, you can't base your dislike of LCD's in a UV rich environment based on one toughbook going bad.

As far as stuff not leaking? More power to you that it's never happened to you. Be glad, because 190° F oil burns like a mofo. There is always a first time for everything, you know.

Electric/Electronic gauges now are pretty damned accurate, this is why most companies are phasing out mechanical gauges.

And as far as my DashDaq and Bling bling? Fo shizzle. Bling Bling, y0! hah.

Actually, I have Diesel Dodge and Chevy owners back off once they see the DashDaq on the A pillar. They know what it is, and don't wanna play... Fun haters.
