Joe Biden’s outright lies during the debate:

1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.

2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.

3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”

4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.

5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.

6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.

7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people’s health insurance coverage — they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false

8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska — she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it’s not a windfall profits tax.

9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation — he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.

11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.

12. TAX INCREASES: Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.

13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”

14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden falsely states that under Obama, Americans won’t pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

he's 70 years old been doing this a hell of a long time. he knows what to say and how to say it to target the unknowing group of college students who are on the fence because of what they are preached in class. to them he is a genius.. Which is why they shouldnt be allowed to vote. I vote for my self and my opinions, not Dr. Zeuss.

Well, we (both sides of the fence) had to find other reasons to drink last night while watching the debate.

Palin did well – she certainly looked a lot more comfortable than I thought she would, and although she had memorized a lot of information, and sort of answered by ‘rote’ in many cases she didn’t make major mistakes (except about Afghanistan), she was very 'cheerleader mom’ like, she rallied the conservative base to the same effect as she did during the RNC.

Mistakes – I could copy a great list from kos or huffington – but this is silly, you can go there and read that, just like I went to Hotair.com this morning to see what was being said about the debate. I will give you a link to http://www.taxfoundation.org/blog/show/23713.html which is an interesting page that points out both candidates’ errors on what their economic plans would and wouldn’t do in regard to taxes being raised/lowered and what income stratas would be effected.

I also thought that Sarah Palin did a good job for Sarah Palin, and just an “OK” job for John McCain. She sure looks like she is running for the top job in 2012.

Biden did a great job attacking the top of the ticket. I thought it interesting that he obviously knows John McCain a whole lot better than Sarah does. He was very articulate, didn’t fall into the ‘droning on’ trap that he wanders into a lot. He looked knowledgeable, and ‘electable’.

The question still is – Foss, you posted yesterday about how unhappy you were with McCain over the economic bill. I don’t think that this debate changed anyone’s minds with regard to the top of the tickets. I think Joe Biden became more ‘human’, and Sarah Palin became more ‘credible’, but, the top of the ticket is what counts in this race. Neither VP choice is a detriment to their ticket, I personally would like to see more of them, and hopefully the GOP will allow Palin some more rope – I would imagine you would like to see that too Foss – groom her for 2012… because that is what I think you need to hang your hat on now…

Because, I believe Michigan just turned blue!!!!!! (much drinking over that fact last night, and much drinking when Sarah channeled Ronnie… whew)

Oh, Mr Ducky – should the voting age be raised again to 21 – or maybe 35? Where would you like that bar raised to, so you can make sure you don’t have to worry about the Dr. Zeuss (sic – obviously you haven’t read any of his work – Dr. Suess’ work that is…) vote.;)

Since you've appointed yourself Spelling Nazi, can I be Sentence Fragment Nazi? I'll have to comment on all of your posts then.

Glass houses, remember?

What do you expect? He had his brain pulled back with surgical tape so he couldn't think clearly.

Oh, I can be terrible at sentence structure - I admit it - whew - really, really bad. It is because here at this forum I am typing as I think, sort of passion overrules good grammar. I think I am better that way, letting 'me' show through, so I don't end up as some sort of autotron like mikejagger, blick.

A note to Mr Jagger - less droning, more connecting...:)

I guess you could equate it to droppin' 'g's and saying 'ya becha' or 'yup'.;)

However, I was a little mixed up at Dr Zuess... I think it is because I saw it as some Greek god reference (sake mixes letters...) Zeus.. whew, confused me...

And I do 'write' all my posts, and I really try not to just copy things from other posts (lots of quotes though, usually to corroborate argument). What you see is what you get - glass house and all... but, OK, point taken - I'll just cringe silently (as I am sure you do when you read my run on and on and on sentences).

I watched the debate for the first time on CNN where they use this odd 'response' meter in the crawl - weird. It was interesting to watch the real time responses though. I noticed that men responded better overall to Palin and women seemed to view Biden in a more positive manner.

Probably has something to do with Minnesota just turning red...

It's not a big deal, just forum etiquette not to nitpick. I was just giving you a gentle reminder.

And Sarah is no D'anna Biers - whoops - maybe she is...:)

Minnesota turned red - really - where?

I use 270 to win - how about you Foss?

How funny that you don't supply a source for your Michigan claim, but you demand one for my Minnesota claim.

Quid pro quo.

foss - 270 to win.... that is who I use!!!!

quid pro quo...;)

I like their tagline - "This isn't a popularity contest."

So...your saying she is a Cylon? Makes sense...we already know that McCain is really Saul Tigh with an artifical eye... :p

McCain is really Saul Tigh? Do you think that his viewpoints on martial law are the same too????;)

Mr Ducky - so, how would you find out if someone...

Maybe a voting test, like a driving test?

Foss, 270 to win uses Survey USA (along with a couple of others) to build its maps - I am very visual, I love the big map at 270 to win. Last week I turned Texas blue - wow!

I see all these talks of politics on a car forum, if you really want change, run for office, join the military, hell join the police force. Obama lies, McCain lies, Palin (with her fine ass)lies, and Biden lies. Its politics!!! I used to think bad of McCain because he supported Gen Petraues (who volunteered our division for a 6 month extension in iraq) (AND ON THE DAY THE WE TOOK FALLUJAH HE WAS FLYING HOME ON HIS PRIVATE JET TO SEE HIS DAUGHTER GRADUATE) THAT PISSED US OFF.

....I'm sorry, I took a shot everytime Biden told a bold faced lie.
Unfortunately that post at the beginning of the thread doesn't even begin to reflect just how dishonest he was. Everything from Obama's position on gay marriage to the amount of money we're spending in Iraq and Afghanistan... everything was dishonest.

However, if you're a fresh viewer of this stuff, Biden said it so confidently, you're inclined to think he must be telling the truth. Sadly, HE WAS NOT.

It's disgusting that he was able to say all of those things unchallenged by the "unbiased" mainstream media.

See, here is my problem.

Almost everything you guys post is inflammatory, and only considers one side of the issue (anti obama). So where is the Sarah Palin lies? How about the McCain BS? Or are they perfect?

The site has a neat feature, it is called the "NEW THREAD" button. Click on it and you can start your own thread on whatever topic you choose. It is really neat. Try it!:D

70 million watched this debate. If people are honest with themselves, the debate went 60-40 in Palin's favor.

Therefore, the polls will be tied once again within a week. Which means, it is over for Obama.:)
