A few questions on the DCCV that have me puzzled.

I have the classic DCCV issue...drivers side has some decent cool air....passenger side is luke warm.

I've checked just the low side pressure on the AC and it's running just fine.

But I do hear the classic noise of the gurgle sound inside like low AC fluid sound.

Also last winter I noticed that my aux pump maybe failing. When idling I will only get cold air and then when moving hot air...but at random times.

So yesterday I was checking the pressure on the AC and had it full blast and it was all warm.....jumped in and started driving around and the AC cooled right down to it's decent drivers/luke warm passenger.

So can someone else toss up any ideas what else besides the DCCV is going out?

01 V8...no overheating issues. No codes on the DATC. It's an LS so of course it acts up with other stuff..ha

What's the low side AC pressure at idle with the fan on high? At what outside temperature? Also, can you check the high side pressure?

Are you sure the gurgle is in the AC and not the degas? My car gurgled intermittently, then started gurgling constantly. When I replaced the degas, the gurgling went away. Don't rule out the possibility of multiple problems happening at once, which can be very frustrating when the possibility is forgotten.

No gurgle outside from what I can tell.

Fan was running high and ten minutes at 85 outside temp idling in parking lot after running interstate no overheat.

Low side was a steady 35 to 40ish....and yes I can check the igh side but it will be next week.

And side not it's not really a gurgle but a hiss.....I always tell the wife to listen for the snake in the dash.

A hiss, eh? My failed degas sounded like trying to get the last bit of milkshake with a straw, only it was constant.

Sounds like you need a new DCCV or clean it out. Secondly if the A/C cools down, but is irregular, sounds like you have a leak and air in the system. However, first replace the DCCV, then see what happens.
