Anyone have any suggestions when it comes to doing the "ground" for the head unit? I assume that that big bar behind the deck is a good place to go for but i would rather know for sure....
The Metra Kit i purchased has a wire labeled Chassis Ground... can i just ground all wires to here???

Anyone able to point out a clever spot for a ground in the trunk?

Also on the SWI-PS, for powering it....just splice into the decks red "Ignition/Switched (+12v)" wire? Then connect the ground the same place as all the other grounded wires?

One other question, not sure if all LS's like my LSE, have the amplified speakers in back such as mine does. (i purchased the Metra Wiring Harness)...
This is a white headed connector piece, and there is one set of RCA (plugged them into the 2ndRCA output coming from the deck labeled "rear output")(subs RCA'd to the Sub Out pair). Then there are also 2black/white "amplifier ground" and 2 blue/white "amp turn-on" wires.... I thought it might connect to the blue "Remote System Control" wire that is used for my sub amp...but i was not sure.

Any help would be appreciated. Ive installed decks/speakers in my other cars and friends but this Linc has stuff ive never dealt with before and i would rather not fry anything knowing how electrical this car is...
If i can get these few questions answered i should have it done/installed over the middle of the week!

use the ground wire in the radio harness, that is the factory "preferred" ground

what for a B U camera, any where, just scrape off the paint in one of the panels and screw it in there (make sure not to do this to one of the body panels) or you can use the factory ground at the battery

yes wire in the red and black wires into the red and black wires at the harness

not all do, but most of them do

you will want to plug that factory sub harness into the sub out on the AVIC (other wise when you turn on the HPF the filter will filter out any bass going to the subs, and the factory sub amp doesn't have a low pass filter and only the sub out on the avic does)

here is the pickle, one of those RCA connectors is for the amp for the factory subs, the other RCA connector is for the amp for the two speakers on the sides of the center console, so one of the rca plugs should go to the front or rear RCA connectors while using a RCA splitter to combine the two sides, and the other should have the same done for the sub connector, you will have to figure out which is which by testing them, then just ground those two black wires with all of the other grounds, and then connect the blue/white wires out of the harness to the blue/white wire coming out of the avic but you will have to place a resistor inline with that wire to keep the amps from "popping" when they turn on or off, the value of resistor that i always use is 1450 ohms

Ahh thanks a grip. that confirms most of what i was thinking, i ended up doing alot of scanning in the forums after i posted this and found some information that will help me, (although i cant seem to find it at the moment, someone layed out the pin set up on the harness detailing center/rear fac subs).

O and the ground i was talking about was the one for the amplifier on the subs...
Ill prolly just use the factory again, its a safe bet.
Also what i was hoping to do was use the rear speakers as vocals so they wound not throw out different lvl's of the same bass, but after reading and finding out they are technicall a "speaker sub" so to speak.... i assume it wont work out that well. no wonder the factory system bangs! lol
But i read on to find out most ppl just removed the whole thing to allow for a "trunk port "its almost like the seat is down someone said!))
But that is if they didnt just replace them with 3way's and tap into the rear door speakers for signal

So i may just leave it entirely unattached at this point... and work towards getting some 3ways and tweeters for the front in the A-pillar.

yes they are a factory sub, and since they are not a full renge speaker, they will not produce a proper full range sound, also the speakers in the doors are very small so you dont have to worry about different levels of bass, just use the crossover propperly in the AVIC to remove all bass from the small door speakers and remove all mids and highs from the fact subs, then adjust the levels and it will sound pretty damn good

that is only if you have put in a aftermarket sub system, then you will want to remove them as they wont really do anything since pretty much any aftermarket system will over power them and you can also get a little more room for a aftermarket sub with them out.

most people dont get this right

i would only leave them disconnected if you put a different sub in, other wise you will be losing out on so much sound
