I just checked the owners manual and there is no mention of it, but i swear i have read that there was a filter on the cooled seats. Is it a reusable type that you just clean off or a replacement type. Where is it?

the only ac filter I know of is the one in the cowl and it is a standard replacement one.

There is definitely a filter for the cooled seats. It is a disc-shaped flat filter that is accessed by moving the seat all the way forward, then getting at it from the back, under the seat. You may be able to clean it with compressed air, but replacements are available.

Yes, its in the 2005 Manual. See about page 159, under Seating and Safety Restraints where the location and replacement procedure are outlined.

I believe it is a simple sponge filter. For a long time, the filters were on national backorder, but I believe they are available again. I recall asking their availability from FastPartsNetwork about a year ago, and found out they could be had for about $10. During the backorder, many LS owners simply washed the filter and reinstalled it.

Your right, it is in there. I was looking in the maintenance part. Still cant find a part number though. My idea was to just switch the driver filter with the passenger filter if they are the same. The passenger a/c hardly ever gets used.

Just to be clear, the 30K mileage service calls for this filter's replacement (as opposed to cleaning).

I think you can get these now at the Lincoln dealer for just a few dollars. I'll see if I can find the P/N in my emails from Torrie.

Yes, Team Ford is the place I ordered mine. I got 4 of them, figured that would last me until I sold the LS.
