A/C problems repost

If the compressor went out best bet is to replace it. Also need ot change the orifice tube whenever a compressor fails.

the compressor is now making a grinding noise and found two melted rubber pieces from the clutch on the ground.the ford dealer said it's not pumping anything and there's probably metal shavings in the system now.but I guess for now he's(me)just gonna put a bypass pulley on it for now till he has the money to fix it.

It is toast. The accumulator, orifice tube should be replaced along with the compressor. Maybe even other parts.

If you're going to install a Compressor Delete pulley ...get the one from Late Model Restoration...the FoMoCo one Sucks

you sure its the compressor and not just the clutch? reletavely common for fords to destroy the clutch.

evac the system and pull off the discharge line. look for grey goo in the line. spin the compressor by hand. does it spin smooth?

the compressor makes a grinding noise when spinning it by hand so it's junk. And there is metal shavings in the filter. He had Ford evac and install the pulley for $103 not to bad.
