98 Mark VIII Shift Knob Removal

Good day everyone. I am new to this forum. I would appreciate any help on directions on how to remove the shift knob on a 98 Mark 8. Console has been removed I'm just having a difficult time figuring out the knob and I do not want to damage it. Any help that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Pull down the black sleve under the leather knob to expose the 2 torx set screws. Be sure to hold onto the button, as once you remove the knob the button and spring will come up. Good luck!
