Joined LVC as a Seville STS owner, now a 97LSC owner with a few issues. Washed engine, now misfires at idle, stumbles bad & wont accel in OD, will accel when OD switched off, almost dies in REV. Is this a plug/boot/COP issue or worse?

More than likely you had water get past the seal around the COP cover and down to the bottom of the plug wells. Pull the COPs and dry the area out and you should be OK. This happened to my friend in his 97, we found the 2 rear plug wells with about an inch of water in them..

Common problem with the Marks! When you wash the engine, do so with low pressure. A pressure washer or car wash sprayer will force water down into the plug wells and the seal on the covers just holds in the moisture.

I would just make it a habit to check them after each time I washed the engine.

What they said^^^

You can pull the covers and spray it out with compressed air and let it dry reall good and should be fine.

Don't wash the motor unless you have an air compressor to blow out the water from thje plug wells... that's my motto...
