'97 Continental : I need help with removal of front bumper/clip. Does anyone have the removal process that they can post. Pics would be most helpful, but I don't know if that is asking too much.

Bumper Cover

Front

Removal

Remove headlamps and cornering lamps. Refer to Section 17-01 .

Remove 10 screws retaining front bumper cover (17D957) to fenders and splash shields.

Remove two pushpins retaining front bumper cover braces to front bumper (17757).

Remove four nuts retaining front bumper cover to front fenders (16005).

Remove four pushpins retaining front bumper cover to lower radiator support.

Depress grille retention clips and release grille.

Remove eight screws retaining radiator grille (8200) to front bumper cover if either is being replaced.

Drill out rivets and remove front license plate mounting bracket (17A385), if so equipped and if the front bumper cover is being replaced.
Installation

Follow removal procedure in reverse order.

Tighten front bumper cover nuts to 7 Nm (61 lb-in).

Tighten screws to 1.5 Nm (13 lb-in).
